Vanita Gupta's profile
I'm female
What I do
I am a post-doctoral fellow currently studying the relationship between the G/A SNP and variant expression in the CCND1 gene in esophageal adenocarcinoma. I also am involved in integrated analysis of the esophageal adenocarcinoma genome using SNP array, miRNA array, and mRNA arrays and examining splice variants through exon arrays. I also take great pride in writing and editing the manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and grants from the lab.

Interests
I am a lover of science, life, and music. I thrive when I am constantly learning and exploring different areas of science. I take great interest in fully exploring a topic, breaking down the research to find potentially unexplored or overlooked areas and filling in the gaps to answer the scientific or medical question at hand. This effectively means I have researched areas as diverse as genomic instability in cancer to steroid signalling in cataract formation. I love bench work, but I am currently interested in pursuing a career in scientific editing.
