Cesar Pichardo's profile
What I do
As a Chemical Engineer (First class degree) with a MSc. In Systems Engineering and a Ph.D in Control Engineering (First Class honours), I have relevant experience covering a wide spectrum of applications, which has given me different competences in several fields:
• On one hand, computer modelling and simulation of industrial processes, developing dynamical models of chemical reactors, heat and mass transfer processes and several systems associated with the chemistry and thermodynamics areas.
• On the other in automatic control and computer sciences, using and developing modelling tools (bond graphs, neural networks, fuzzy systems, agent based models, etc) for the analysis, simulation and control of dynamic systems in Chemical Engineering, the Automotive Industry and Life Sciences.
One of my last experiences was working in a cross-disciplinary team in the computer modelling and simulation area, tackling complex applications at the interface between Chemical Engineering, Control, Software Engineering and Computational Systems Biology, with a strong emphasis on the development and analysis of agent-based models of dynamic complex systems with researchers among the best experts in the field at the University of Sheffield.

Projects
Previous projects:
- Research Associate in the Epitheliome Project. The aim of this project is to develop a computational model (agent-based model) that is able to predict the social behaviour of cells in epithelial tissues.
- Development of graphical methods (using bond graphs) for the state estimation of chemical processes (Ecole Centrale de Lille, France).
- Modelling, Simulation and Control of Chemical and Industrial Processes: Distillation processes, Chemical reactors, Heat transfer processes, etc. (Simon Bolivar University, Venezuela).
- Modelling and Simulation of separation processes (flash) and development of Pharmacokinetics models (Simon Bolivar University, Venezuela).
