      I’m interested in how microRNAs affect cardiac neural crest cell (CNCC) migration to the outflow tract and how they might affect the differentiation of CNCCs into the various cell types of the OT. Finally, I’m interested in how this information could be used to create therapies for congenital heart diseases such as persistant truncus arteriosus and ventricular septum defects.

      Currently, I am investigating the role of miRNAs in the 1st pharyngeal arch and their effect on craniofacial development and patterning.
