What I do
I’m a PhD student in the Microarray Informatics Group at the European Bioinformatics Institute advised by Alvis Brazma.
In the past I was a researcher and software developer at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle and a visiting graduate student in the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the University of Washington. I have a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Tübingen in Germany.
Since January 2008 I’ve been Chair of the ISCB Student Council. I’ve organized ISCB Student Council Symposiums at ISMB 2006 and at ISMB/ECCB 2007.

Interests
Currently my main interests are in the area of information visualization, data integration and data mining for large-scale high-throughput experiments in molecular biology. In short, I’m developing and applying visual analytics methods in bioinformatics.
