Michael Inouye's profile
What I do
I’m currently doing bioinformatics research at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in the group of Leena Peltonen, while concurrently preparing a PhD thesis at Leiden University. My main interest is the development of statistical methods to analyze genetic data, primarily from DNA microarrays and sequencing, with applications to genome-wide association studies and human/pathogen population variation. I also have a keen interest in the modeling of new technologies, for example using the physical parameters of ‘next-generation’ sequencers to identify and minimize the causes of error.
