Matias Hernandez's profile
What I do
I work on the molecular mechanisms underlying membrane fusion in neuronal exocytosis. One of the focuses of the lab where I work is trying to understand how a family of proteins known as SNAREs mediate the various steps which are required for membrane fusion. I take an in vitro approach by expressing the proteins and reconstituting them onto artificial vesicles.
