Interests
My main focus areas are granularity, ontology development and integration that can be applied to biological knowledge, and biological data characteristics. That is, the knowledge representation and ontological aspects of biology from a systems-level perspective, narrowed down to developing a formal theory of granularity that eventually might improve management of (biological) information systems.
Other research covers implementation aspects of bioinformatics (database design), a broader scope of subject domain (including ecology), and both ontology development and integration.
