      I am the Editor of Nature Protocols. I commission and edit our protocols, amongst other things, so am always on the look out for exciting methodology!

      At work: Nature Protocols launched last summer and we are busy building up a large collection of protocols. There are two main components: Nature Protocols, which publishes tried and tested protocols – we commission these and they undergo peer review and editing prior to publication; and the Protocols Network, which enables users and suppliers to post their protocols directly to the site. All users are also invited to comment on all our protocols, and we are hoping this will enable the protocols to evolve and improve over time.

      Way back in the dark ages my research was in cancer pharmacology, and I then spent 5 years as Editor of a Pharmacology review journal, so I tend to cover these kind of areas for Nature Protocols.

      At home: Playing badminton (badly) and entertaining my daughter Hannah (aged 2).
