The analysis of complex biomedical data, with the goal of developing reliable methods relevant in the clinic for the prognosis/diagnosis of various diseases and disease states

Using data (from biofluids, tissues, in vivo and in vitro) obtained from noninvasive experimental techniques (e.g., magnetic resonance, infrared, fluorescence and mass spectroscopy, microarrays, and various imaging modalities), develop robust, reliable classifiers.
Currently, these are applied to various cancers (breast, colon, prostate), and the detection of organ transplant rejection noninvasively, using spectroscopy applied to urine, blood or serum specimens.
