Interests
I am working on continuing the development of connotea. I come from an astrophysics background, and moved into publishing sometime late in 2002. I think the key problem that science will face is information overload and I am trying to figure out what kind of tools we as publishers can create to help a scientist in their daily work to get to the information that they need.
Ultimately the solution is likely to involve many layers such as using the social group of the scientist to get trusted recommendations, looking at the semantic content of papers, looking at which papers are attracting interest through usage statistics.
My work with connotea will involve trying out some of these ideas.
If you have any thoughts on the problem then please do contact me, I’d love to hear from you.
