Amit Agarwal's profile
What I do
I am a graduate student in International Max Plank Research school (IMPRS) for Neurosciences and University of Goettingen, Germany. Primary goal of my PhD project is to study the function of Neuregulin1 in the central nervous system. I use tools of mouse transgenic technology, biochemistry and histology for answering queries related to my project.

Interests
I would like to understand molecular mechanism of some of the most devastation psychiatric disorder such as Schizophrenia. I like to study neuron-glia interaction and the role of such interactions in the maintenance of normal brain activity. I think time has come to change ones neurocentric view and to widen our field of view.To gain better understanding in the higher brain function one shouldn’t neglect the role of glial cells, both oligodendrocytes and astrocytes.
Projects
Function of Neuregulin1 gene in the myelination and development of central nervous system: A psychiatric disorder perspective.
