Yaguang Si's profile
What I do
I am a postdoctoral fellow working in the Obesity Research Center at Boston University School of Medicine. My current research involves in studying the relationship between mitochondrial functions and obesity, which involves in mitochondrial morphology, roles of reactive oxygen species and choices of substrates (carbohydrate vs fatty acids).

Interests
I am interested in discovering new strategies to control obesity through regulating the metabolism of fat cells (adipocytes). Particularly, I am focusing on two questions: (1) how to force the cells to become less energy efficient and consume more substrates? (2) Does the fat cell has limited capacity to burn fat? How to improve its capacity?
