Interests

Scientific interests: host plant resistance, bioinformatics, rice functional genomics

Not-so-scientific pursuits: cooking, blogging and playing soccer

Projects

My current project is on candidate gene-aided selection for quantitative resistance to rice blast. We target disease resistance QTLs and identify putative candidate genes in these regions by looking into the rice genome. The approach is to combine molecular, phenotypic and in silico approaches for assocating these QTLs to blast resistance.
