Paul Fisher's profile
What I do
At present, I am studying for a Phd in Bioinformatics, looking into the possibility of using workflows to aid with Genotype-Phenotype correlations. This is being conducted through the myGrid project utilising the workbench Taverna as the interface to these workflows.
A preliminary use case for this project has been to study the mechanisms of resistance to African Trypanosomiasis in the mouse and cow models. This has included investigating the genes, and biological pathways involved in the expression of the phenotype.
My supervisors for this PhD project are Dr. Roberts Stevens and Prof. Andy Brass. My Advisor is Dr. Steve Pettifer
