Interests

My research is on the functional role of human prefrontal cortex. The aim is to understand how this cortical region achieves, in concert with the rest of the nervous system, higher aspects of cognition, such as attention, cognitive control, planning, working memory, top-down attention and decision making. My main scientific methods consist in combining psychophysical and neuroimaging data with computational modelling and machine learning techniques, in order to constraint and compare different interpretations of the data.

Projects

Some projects I am involved in:

1-Relationship between cognitive control and consciousness.

2-The role of anterior prefrontal cortex during integration of information in working memory.

3-Spatial and temporal compression in visual perception during saccadic eye movements.
