What I do
(aka Barbara Portella, or Barbara Axt-Portella)
What do I do? I’m a journalist, with a MSc in Science Communication from Imperial College and I’m working as a reporter at Research Fortnight.
I also plan to take over the world some day.
This is the worst definition of myself I have ever written.
(I also think it is very weird to tag people as “contacts” OR “friends”. I have the feeling people will think I’m pushy if I tag them “friend”, and unfriendly if I tag them a mere “contact”)
(...think I’ll tag everybody i’ve met in person as friend)
(I feel better now)

Interests
When not observing how science and technology relate to culture and society, I like to trek around London or the country side. I am also interested on photography (especially taking pictures of my own shadow on different landscapes) and since moving to London, I have developed new hobbies, including cooking (part necessity, part pleasure), and creating new ways of living in (and organising) the smallest apartment in UK
