Asif Khan's profile

I'm male and 28

What I do

I am a graduate student at the Department of Biochemistry, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. My research interests are in the characterization and analysis of targets of immune responses in viruses, and their applications in the area of computer-aided vaccine research. I have developed a novel bioinformatics methodology for systematic screening and selection of targets of immune responses that are candidates for formulation of vaccines against viruses. I have applied the methodology to dengue virus sequence data to screen and select for candidate immunogens that are effective against broad spectrum of the virus and are applicable to a large proportion of the human population. We are, currently, experimentally validating these candidate immunoges with our collaborators from Johns Hopkins University, USA.
