Interests

The primary aim of my research is to understand how carbohydrate recognition mediates cellular communication in the immune system. My central focus is on the structure and functions of sialic acid binding Ig-related lectins (siglecs) most of which are expressed in the immune system. We are also interested in the functional significance of glycosylation in the immune system and the identification of novel carbohydrate binding proteins.
