      I started life, post-embryonic, as a marine biologist and went on to work at Brown University in Providence, RI. In 1999 I first came to work at Nature as a freelancer, and kept visiting from then on.

      I swam back ashore in the UK in the summer of 2001 and after a Masters Degree in Conservation Genetics I started work full-time at NPG in the editorial department of Nature Reviews. In 2006 I moved to the Business Development Department to work on our ‘mothership’ title Nature.

      In February 2008 I moved to the Physical Sciences Dpt as Associate Publisher, where I get to work on developing the fastest-growing area in NPG publishing!
