Josh Young's profile

What I do

I am the product coordinator at Haemoscope Corporation, a small biotech company in the suburbs of Chicago. The company produces a device that provides a global, individualized picture of patients’ blood clotting characteristics. This product has seen signficant success in liver and cardiac surgery, as well as obstetrics and gynecology. My role is to coordinate R&D accounts, where we lend our device and donate our consummables to research institutions that are interested in carrying out coagulation studies using our product. I am also involved in product development and quality assurance.

Previously I worked in a biophysics lab at the University of Illinois (Champaign) where I got my masters degree in molecular biology. Following this, I worked at the University of Illinois (Chicago) in an immunology lab investigating the effects of apoptosis on the immune response.
