What I do
Dr Tessa Christodoulou obtained her BSc in Psychology from Brunel University in 2004. Her BSc required two semesters of work placement. She had the chance to work in settings such as home based treatment for autistic children and in psychiatric research.
Dr Christodoulou has successfully completed her PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry, Section of Neurobiology of Psychosis. Her research focused on cognitive endophenotypes for Bipolar disorder.
Her interest in neuropsychology led her to UCL where she obtained an MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology.She got a distinction for investigating cognitive traits of relatives of schizophrenic and bipolar patients.
Dr Christodoulou attended an extensive training in Eating disorders offered by the National Centre for Eating disorders and Obesity and she was awarded a Master Practitioner’s Diploma.
Finally she was trained in rehabilitation techniques, assessment and psychological therapy for people with Alzheimer’s.
Dr Christodoulou has worked as a research worker and honorary psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry King’s College London from February 2003 till November 2007.

Interests
Tessa has a clear interest in the neuropsychological aspects of psychiatric and neurological disorders. She is also interested in cognitive rehabilitation after traumatic brain injuries and neurological conditions.
Dr Christodoulou is a reviewer at a number of journals, a member of the International society for Affective disorders and the International society for Bipolar disorders. She has also full access to all clinical and neuropsychological tools at the Pearson asssessment group.
Projects
Tessa is currently preparing an oral presentation for the 6th National conference on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders on the effectiveness of pharmacological intervention on the cognitive profile of patients suffering from dementia under the title Neuropsychopharmacology.
She is also discussing a project regarding the translation of some neuropsychological tests in Greek.
Tessa is planning to return at her home city Thessaloniki Greece next year where she is aiming to become a lecturer in Neuroscience at the University of Macedonia.
Dr Christodoulou has also been offered positions to work as Cognitive Neuropsychologist in a number of rehabilitation centres and hospitals at Thessaloniki- Greece where she is offering currently consultation till her return at Greece.
