What I do
I’m working as a postdoc in basic biological science field, studying regulation of gene expression. The lab is located in Cancer Research UK, London Research Institute. Previously, I did my PhD study at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York.
Personally, I like cooking and baking. So, if you have party plans, I can bake a big cake for you! I also like to go out for hiking and mountain climbing. I really liked to go for fishing (and cooking the fish!), but are there any good places to go from London?

Interests
I’m originally from Japan, did my graduate study in the US, and came to England for postdoc… I am interested in to see how scientific research and educational systems are organized in different countries. Obviously, scientific carrier and funding schemes are heavily influenced by the governmental policy, historic background, economy and business custom etc. in each country. By learning how different systems work in different places, I think, I can acquire better skills to survive as a “successful scientist”, and even help the society to move towards the better directions…
Also, I’m very interested in improving my English writing!
