Eric Soller's profile
What I do
I am a graduate student in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I work in & manage the Fiber & Polymers Laboratory, under the direction of Prof. Ioannis V. Yannas. My current research interrogates the relationship between myofibroblast-mediated contraction and induced regneration in the peripheral nerve wound model. I utilize various contraction blocking strategies, the most recent of which is pharmacological inhibition of a Rho/Rho Kinase intracellular force generation pathway. I am also interested in the altered wound healing response (relative expression of ‘provisional matrix’ proteins in both skin and nerve wounds) in response to different biomaterials.
