Interests
My special interest lies in measuring membrane transport processes by using fluorescence techniques in order to get a more quantitative understanding of for example nuclear export and import.
Projects
1. Kinetics of nuclear Export and Import, involving retroviral RNAs like RRE and CTE, as well as cellular mRNAs together with their transport receptors and cofactors
2. Development of arrays with microcavities (about 3×3×3 µm) for measuring transport processes through membrane pores and channels like the NPC
3. Understanding the function of the nuclear pore complex (NPC)
