I am Coordinating Manager of the EMBL International Centre for Advanced Training (EICAT) at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). In this function, I am responsible for all training and educational activities at EMBL Heidelberg and the other sites at Hinxton (UK), Hamburg (DE), Grenoble (FR) and Monterotondo (IT). Training is one of the core missions of EMBL, and EICAT integrates experience with know-how, creating synergies and making expertise available to institutions and scientists in EMBL’s member states and around the world. EICAT coordinates the well known EMBL International PhD Programme, the Postdoctoral Programme with the new EMBL Interdisciplinary Postdoc (EIPOD) Fellowship Initiative, the EMBL Course and Conference Programme, the Visitors and Scholars Programme and the EMBL Teacher Training Initiative ELLS. Collaborations with the EMBL Science and Society Programme and the Office for Information and Public Affairs are also in the focus of EICAT.
