What I do
In the last years, concepts and methodologies initially developed in theoretical physics have found high applicability in a number of very different areas. Words as complexity, nonlinearity, chaos, noise, which have always existed in the vocabulary of theoretical physicists, find their natural collocation in the physiological rhythms. Together with my colleagues, I apply methods and approaches rooted in physics to the analysis of physiological signals. The field is vaste and unexplored and presents multiple facets. These characteristics are reflected in the structure of the work done, and of the map below. I am happy that our research path had lead us through several facets of this exciting and complex world.
