1. Cellular, Molecular, Immunological and Glycobiological changes in Breast Cancer
a. Changes in glycosyltransferases involved in mucin type O-glycosylation and the effects of these changes in the glycoforms of the MUC1 mucin expressed by breast and other adenocarcinomas.
b. effects of changes in glycosylation on behavioural properties of breast cancer cells.
c. Serum Biomarkers for detection and prediction of various cancers based on immune responses to novel glycoforms of mucins expressed by cancers.
d. epigenetic changes in breast cancer related to the histone demethylase PLU-1/JARID1B.
2. Changes in glycosylation occurring in immune effector cells upon differentiation.
3. Lectin interactions of surface receptors on breast cancer cells and immune effector cells.
