Kenneth Clune's profile
I'm male
What I do
My background is in cancer research, I studied patient tumors and adjacent normal tissue to identify targets to treat cancer with drugs. Did proof of concept experiments and presented targets for development. Developed assays for the high-throughput screening of drug candidates. Developed biochemical assays to test lead compounds. Did formulation for pre-clinical studies. Looked at drug treated tumors for biomarkers of drug treatment. Grew tumor explants to look for drug resistance. A group had put a cancer drug in a rat model for Alzheimer’s disease and showed a reduction in plaques. I am currently try to make a model of neurodegeneration to see if some cancer drugs could also be used in nerological diseases.
