Eva Amsen's profile
What I do
I write a blog called easternblot , mostly about the relation of science to daily life and art. I’ve also written about science or related topics for a number of other outlets, including Hypothesis (for which I’m an editor), the Ontario Genomics Institute, The Scientist, Inkling Magazine, CRAM Science, Spacing Magazine, and others.
Although I love science writing, it doesn’t quite fill my days (yet), but my research does! I’m currently finishing a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Toronto.
I also play violin in a student string orchestra and sometimes in smaller ensembles.
