    • What I do

I’m a graduate student based at Academia Sinica, in Taipei, Taiwan. After graduating with a Chemistry postgraduate degree in India, I’d a brief stint, as a research scholar, studying the photochemistry of binuclear ruthenium/osmium complexes as models for photosynthetic reaction centres that eventually led to my interest in biology.

While my friends were busy writing programme modules for bay-area start-ups, and others applying to graduate schools in the US, I wished to be a little ‘different’, and embarked for an unlikely destination to do my PhD studies.

My research is centred around understanding the role of metal ions—either structural or catalytic—in biological macromolecules. We employ molecular dynamics simulations and CDM/DFT calculations to investigate metal-protein interactions. Please see my research and other interests below.
