Tim Hubbard's profile

What I do

Worry about annotating vertebrate genomes, particularly human, through a mixture of automatic annotation through Ensembl and manual curation by Havana. Also involved in big sequencing projects, such as zebrafish genome.

Interests

Long history in prediction and its evaluation, including involvement in CASP protein structure prediction competition. Still a predictor at heart, with research group using machine learning such as for motif discovery, see Tiffin. Interested in data sharing infrastructure (e.g. DAS). Member of advisory board of ukPMC so very interested in ways to exploit open access content.
