The real tough thing in doing science is that you don’t have to mess up something to get no results. A friend of mine works with potato. They were investigating whether the x gene has an effect on the resistance against dry stress. After one and a half year work they can summ up the answer in a simple no.
But that’s a result!
Indeed, but a fairly useless and disappointing one.
