    • The closed gas pipes

      Wednesday, 14 Jan 2009 - 12:00 UTC

The Russian company, Gazprom closed the gas pipes for almost a week, due to a dispute with the Ukraine gas company over the transfer rates. Hungary has quite big gas reserves, but Serbia left without any for the coldest days of the winter.
What is the impact of this situation on research?

I tought I posted this yesterday, but it seems I pressed the “save” instead of the “publish” button. Shame on me.

          Great stuff, Viktor!

To turn your image on its head – I have seen students use laboratory bunsen burners to toast marshmallows. My chemistry classes in high school were very, erm, interactive that way.

Hey, you’re not a real scientist until you’ve had a bunsen-burner cooked meal, or at least snack. :)

Once I baked chesnuts in the sterilizer oven. Does that qualify me as a scientist? :-)
