That’s terrible. Funny, but terrible. I was in a lab for a short while, which was housed in a building also containing a morgue. The morgue was directly below a bank of elevators that I took every morning to get to lab. I don’t know how or why, but the
stenchodor from the morgue would waft directly up and to become concentrated in the elevator cabins. It was a terrifying smell, if there is such a thing. It smelled bad, certainly, but also really disconcerting and uncomfortable. Although that could also be because I knew what I was smelling… Needless to say, I started taking the stairs.At this department, the autopsy room is equiped with a high capacity stench-pipe. However, turning it on did nit make any difference.
Months later a guy from the maintenance did something at that room, when he incidentally bespoke that the switch is not wired.
So, this days we have to call some room at the basement to turn it on
