• The Scientist by Richard Grant

Raising being quoted out of context to an art form: 'awesome, but not always right'. Drinks well with scientists.

    • On a jet plane, leaving

Today I’m flying (on the Airbus! Woo hoo!) so that I can attend the SciBlog (which sounds like something from Star Trek to me).

I’m also going to the Open Science workshop on 1st September in Southampton, and will be talking at the MRC-LMB on Friday 29th August. If you’re around, feel free to come and heckle.

Is that the taxi waiting, blowing his horn?

Edit: I just remembered to say that I’m going to try to update on the fly. Either at Twitter and/or Friendfeed. Possibly, if all else fails, at Facebook (and here, of course).

Too bad I can’t make it, hope you have lots of fun and report how it’s going! Are there any physicists among the attendees, I gave the list a brief look but couldn’t find one.

I’m getting quite excited about this now! I’ve not been blogging here long but have been reading for longer and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Sabine – I was a physicist once, and at least one physicist colleague will be there!

And I would have been a physicist if I’d ever been a real scientist… but that’s probably no consolation.

Henry, you might want to make sure your chickens are safely locked up.

Well, as they say, if ‘erotic’ is a feather, then ‘exotic’ is the whole chicken. But seriously, the chickens can look after themselves, as can Beelzebun Demon Bunny of DOOM.

          It’s the guinea-pigs I’m worried about.

Why not. Hugging Henry is a rare privilege, I’d have thought. Though you do need long arms.
