Camouflaged to perfection against the bark of a Sausage tree, a male leopard climbed down his perch to seek shelter against the blazing summer sun heating up the veld. In a white Citi golf – equally camouflaged with streaks of buffalo dung and only a few meters away from the tree – we watched in awe as the large feline gracefully disappeared into the bush. Close encounters with large cats are the perfect ranger’s reward.
