At least this article is under Sport rather than Science section of the Daily Mail: it claims the special shirts ionize the skin allowing for increased blood flow and thereby increase performance in football players wearing these shirts. There’s of course no clear evidence for this..

It reminds me of a swimsuit that was modelled on shark skin to reduce friction. Swimmers really believed it gave them an edge over other swimmers, yet the speeds at which they were swimming were nothing like those of sharks and hence rendered their swimsuit useless apart from hiding their private bits…
The graphics is nice though.
I remember blood flow is regulated by the vascular which can contract or expand in its diameter with its smooth muscle.
