Last days have been really busy: worked a lot on my first really large article for a magazine (about green energy in my country) and eager to read everything that was happening in Italy and in the U.S.A. since Obama election. About the election, I suggest this analysis of the American vote:
This morning there’s a huge covering of the Genova’s 2001 G8 trial on the Italian press. The idea of the defence – an idea made real by the sentence we read today – is that there was no premeditation of the police violence. So most of the charges dropped. I don’t want to say anything about this sentence.
What is interesting is that probably that G8 was the first public event in which the contents generated by the participants helped in drawing a much more accurate image of what was happening. We were a faraway from Youtube or anything like this, but videos made with mobile phone and little cameras have been sent to all the main TVs. The audience realized that what the police and the government was telling didn’t correspond to the truth. It has been a little, unhelpful victory.
