If you’ve ever wondered what I sound like beyond typed words on the screen, you can find out by heading over to the RSC’s (chemistry) Chemistry in its element podcast this week.
I chose the element platinum because it’s one of the common threads through my research – I spent my PhD using platinum catalysts to make dendrimers, then my postdoc looking at new drug delivery systems for platinum based anticancer drugs such as cisplatin.
You may recognise a couple of other familiar names on the page…and I’d recommend having a listen to any of the podcasts because they are very informative and entertaining.
PS – I hate the sound of my own voice recorded so this was quite an odd task!
Very informative podcast, Katherine.
BTW, I never knew you were Scottish. Which part of Scotland are you from?
Thanks Graham,
I’m from Limekilns, a wee village near Dunfermline, just across the Forth Bridge from Edinburgh.
Cool! I also never like the sound of my voice. It’s just because it sounds different to your own ears than when you’re listening to yourself “live” – but this sounds really like what you sound like in real life! And it’s well-paced, and interesting (Gold mines abandoned because of platinum poisoning? Haha!)
