On Thursday we had the inaugural meeting of the snappily titled Nature Podcast in Second Life series.

Every Thursday at 11am PDT, the Nature Podcast will be broadcast at the rooftop cafe on the Elucian Islands, Nature’s home in Second Life. It is completely free and anyone is welcome to come and listen to the Podcast and chat with other science enthusiasts.

This week we heard about amphibians, tsunamis and Ancient Greek computers – join us next week, 11am PDT, for the next show!

Technical point: next week we will stream the show which will make sure everyone is hearing exactly the same thing at the same time and should help anyone with a slower computer. We are also looking into the possibility of a bridge from Twitter to SL, so that if you can’t get into SL, you can still listen along at the same time and join in the conversation. More on that later.

I’m also wondering about having a later listening as well, perhaps in the evening PDT. I know some people are missing out on everything – anyone with any comment to make about timezones or scheduling, please do get in touch.
