      Dr. Brooks:

Members of the editorial review board of [Journal of Amazing Stuff] have completed the second review of you and your co-author’s manuscript. The reviewers have recommended that your manuscript be accepted for publication.

Thank you once again for your submission and congratulations.

Mmmmmm. Yummy. Time for a celebratory ciggie and cup of cold decaf!

no, you didn’t Henry? did you? [it is most definetly too late in the day for me to still be at work and waiting for cells to split… but chickens and badminton seem like a strange match….]

And if you’re considering tattooing with code, I’d highly recommend this

Warning Code name might be heavily based on naughty word.

Henry – your logic is inescapable, but you must have had to reinforce the battledores somehow, I suspect.

Congratulations Ian!! It really is a wonderful feeling. We are submitting a manuscript in a few days so I hope to experience some of the same relief and joy soon.

@Henry: are you playing with chickens or against chickens? The latter is possible according to the Disney animated movie, Robin Hood, which had an anthropomorphic chicken, Lady Kluck, playing badminton with Maid Marian

Wow, a nice surprise to boot up this morning and find 50 new emails, 85% of are NN comments!

The warm fuzzy is still there, although slightly displaced by grimness (?) because a journal that accepted another article back in January has seemed to have lost the damned manuscript and cobbled something odd together instead. Further, they have the temerity to blame us and are demanding an immediate turn around!

I think not. Let battle commence!!
