What I do
I trained as a physicist at Imperial College in London, staying on to dabble in the mysteries of anaesthetic drugs for my PhD. I first joined Nature in 1998 working on the News & Views section, and later helped to launch the monthly title Nature Materials, before taking up my current post in 2003. Today, I’m responsible for commissioning and editing news features in the physical sciences, and I run Nature’s Commentary section.
