You’ll no doubt have heard of such rustic pursuits as cheese-rolling, bog-snorkelling and welly-wanging, but the good burghers of Cromer see in the Spring with the Annual Pancake Race, in which the whole of Chapel Street is cordoned off. Your reporter braved the huge crowds and unseasonably warm weather to bring you these trackside pictures. Pancakes were tossed, many hit the deck, thrills and spills galore, release of calcium etcetera etcetera.

the champions go head to head in the final furlong…
The winner claims his trophy.My very sporty niece (aged 12) made it to the final but crashed out horribly. Which was a shame, as I had money on her to win.
