    It's a blog. I don't really know what it's about either.

    • Feature request

I can’t be bothered to click all over the place to find the forum thread with the feature requests, so I’ll post it here, and maybe next time I do find the thread I will remember:

I want to go back in history on my snapshot page. (You will see your own snapshot page if you click that, or maybe an error if you’re not on NN)

It’s not even that I have too many people as contacts, because it’s always the same 5-10 people filling it up. I used to be able to look before bed and then still have the last update just on the screen when I woke up in the morning, so I knew I didn’t miss anything. But then someone moved from one time zone to another, and that tipped my contacts’ activity to more than could fit on one snapshot page while I sleep.

I already tried not sleeping, and it helps with keeping track of updates, but I find that otherwise inconvenient. Other solutions include moving to Europe, living on Europe time, or unfriending some people, but it would be much easier if there simply was a “previous” or “earlier” link at the bottom of the snapshot page, so I could see what else happened while I was asleep.

Or, even worse, I just go and do something else for an hour or so (you know, like work) and the snapshot page is entirely filled up with new things…

I don’t get the problem. The forum about feature requests is permanently on the forums home page (click “forums” top of page – “What’s next forum: tell us what you want on N Network” is always there, in that little trio with the newcomers and “what’s wrong” forums). Or you could go old-fashioned and simply bookmark it.

If you want to see more of your snapshot you can subscribe in RSS which allows you to scroll down further.

Not referring to Nature Network in particular, but I think it would be impossible to customise a website so that the entirety of the site does what every individual user wants, as all the users want different things (or have different priorities). But if the site has features on it so you can customise it to your own needs, great. That’s my philosophy of websites I use, in any event.

(Usual disclaimer: I write as a user who happens to be employed in a different capacity for the company that owns the N Network platform. I do not speak for Nature Network.)

Oh, thanks. I was looking at “groups” instead of “forums”, and I forgot the name (“What’s Next”) so I couldn’t search for it!

Thanks Corie, for removing the spam. I tried it twice this morning from my iPod Touch, and it kept saying it was gone, but then it was still there. I guess it only responds to real computers.
