Two SciBarCamp events coming up in the next few months. Mark your calendars!
May 8-9 in Toronto
Opening reception and program suggestions on the evening of May 8th, and the event itself is on May 9th. We’re collaborating with Science Rendezvous , but the event itself is still the regular SciBarCamp (meaning: you’ll have to sign up for it. Registration isn’t open yet, but will be after Easter.)
July 8-9 in Palo Alto
Two months later, and at the other side of the continent, there is another SciBarCamp. This event is spearheaded by Jamie McQuay, who also organized the first SciBarCamp in Toronto last year.
I’m feeling left out, over this side of the pond. Are there any moves to create a similar event in Europe?
I’ve heard vague plans about an Amsterdam version, but don’t know how far they are with that. Basically, anyone can organize a SciBarCamp, so if there are many people in the UK who are interested, just have one =)
Hmmm.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
(Scurries off to WestJet website to look at airfares)
What’s the registration cost for the Toronto event?
Free!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
How very interesting.
Doooooo iiiiiittttttt!!!!!
I really really want to!
Complicating factors:
I just realized I have a concert on May 14th. And I just switched to a different orchestra section, for which I don’t have sheet music. So that’s going to be hilarious. (Last year I had to bring my violin to SciBarCamp, because I had a dress rehearsal immediately afterwards, so it’s kind of a tradition.)
