    It's a blog. I don't really know what it's about either.

At the end of Science Online 09 I spent some time interviewing people about science and music. I brought a new audio recorder with me – a present I got myself for Christmas and defending my PhD. It’s not the kind of recorder normally used for interviews or note taking, but rather one that also records music pretty well. It’s the cheapest high quality recorder out there, and it has lots of great reviews. The fact that it was sold out all across Toronto in the week before Christmas speaks to that as well.

I’d never had a chance to properly test it. I read the manual on the flight over, and on Saturday night I put the recorder on the table in the hotel bar, late at night, resulting in 6 minutes of four-channel insanity. This is the very best minute of the whole conversation. Martin is wisely quiet here (you can hear him laughing, but that’s it) but you can hear Henry, Cameron, Deepak, and me in this recording

Notice that Henry brings up Richard twice within the span of a minute, both times wishfully thinking someone else was Richard. The only thing that distracts Henry’s mind from Richard (or does it?) is reciting a dirty limerick he previously wrote on Jenny’s blog.

          Enough of the smut, please!

The quality is scrumptious on the recording, Eva. A sound investment (geddit?). Creamy, dulcet tones serenading my ears. Maybe you should do some podcasts and interviews from the next bloggers’ meeting?

Mike, I did some interviews for this project and will put snippets of those online (but not everything, because I need to keep the good stuff for the final thing)

Hey, someone (but not me) tagged my post. I thought it was too frivolous to be collected in the scio09 thing (the serious conference post is yet to come) but I guess it’s okay then…

You know, when your podcasts are up, let’s link to them from the wiki as well, since they were born at ScienceOnline09 in a way. Let me know by e-mail when they are ready….I can’t wait to hear them (I don’t even know who you interviewed – Abel, Sheril?)
