and for the discovery of the origin of the broken symmetry which predicts the existence of at least three families of quarks in nature, jointly to:

I have always been very attracted to the concept of spontaneous symmetry breaking. Great break-down of the award at The Reference Frame .
I actually wanted to watch the webcast but between Nobelprize.org server problems (too much traffic?) and my own professional firewall, it does not seem possible. Plus there was some sort of delay, perhaps because some of the recipients were notified in the middle of the night?
