Hi there!
I just want to start my brand new blog by saying hello to all my fellow bloggers/blog readers on the Nature Network and introducing myself. My name is Christie. I hope to call myself a Ph.D. student next fall (or, the preferred “Oompa Loompa of Science,” or O.L.S. for short), but until then I’m just a college graduate with a B.S. in Marine Science (Biology). I currently do research on adenosine receptor stimulation in heart cells in Bradenton, Florida. Well, that’s enough about me. If you want to know more, just ask!
This blog is a pop-science/oceanography blog that covers just about anything that piques my interest. I try to make it upbeat, fun, and informative. If you think I should cover something, let me know! I have another blog, Observations of a Nerd, if you want to see the kind of things I like to write about. I’ll try not to duplicate too much, so that you can read both, if you’re really bored. For now I’ll just leave you with the coolest thing I’ve found trolling the internet.
If you spend time looking at random blogs, you just might stumble upon this one. A kind soul has found what happens when science meets…knitting.

Apparently I’m not the only biologist with too much free time.
Want the pattern for the rator frog ? Or just buy them. They’d make great gift – especially if I’m on your list.
Welcome to the NN blog roster, Christie! Looking forward to reading more about your work and trawlings of science on the net. When you get the chance, join the Nature Network Bloggers forum to keep up to date with our all of our plans, schemes, and chats.
