• A glass of sherry in the direction of those

attending ScienceOnline’09, may their deliberations be profound, entertaining and fruitful. A glance at the estimable Mr Greg Laden’s blog (he is liveblogging the event) reveals that NN’s very own Bob O’Hara appears to have found both deep thoughts and silliness as he claims to be in the bar with a Grrlscientist, who is laughing hysterically.

I am sure that they will keeping us informed of their deliberations. Indeed, I suspect the only way to stop communicators of their kidney keeping us informed would be to bring about the end of the world. And I suspect that Coturnix would manage to post even after that event. The Live Coverage page appears to the place to start for those not fortunate enough to be there. The attendees are also twittering, although at present mostly about coffee.

Good grief. My wireless informs me that the world ‘bollocks’ was used in early versions of the King James Bible. It was later replaced by ‘stones’. Presumably the verse ‘let him who is without sin cast the first bollock’ had caused a certain amount of confusion in the puritanical pews of 17th century England.

Well, is Charles Darwin himself going to come to ScienceOnline’10? Perhaps we can arrange signing of copies of the ‘Origin’!
