endorsed a Mr Obama to win the Presidency of the United States. I had hoped to keep my sentiments private, since such pronouncements inevitably attract Baracking.

One of Mr Obama’s opponents is reported to swallow the camel of creationism yet strain at the gnat of gnatural selection. Can such a thing be possible in the country which has given us so many Nobel laureates in the sciences (many of whom have endorsed Mr Obama)?

As ever, your turn of phrase is most colorful and pleasing, but don’t believe everything you read, Mr. Darwin. As it turns out, “reports” that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin favors teaching creationism in science classes are nothing but smears on the part of a media in the tank for Barack Obama.
